Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how TV Log ("we", "our", "the app") collects, uses and protects your information when you use our mobile application. By using TV Log, you agree to the practices described below.

1Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password, or, if you sign in with Google or Apple, the basic profile information (name, email) those providers share with us.

Profile information. Username, bio, avatar and banner images and any other details you choose to add to your profile.

Watch activity. The shows and movies you track, episode/movie watch history and dates, ratings, emotional reactions ("feelings"), favorite character votes and watch streaks.

Social & content data. Lists you create or save, comments and replies you post (including any images or GIFs you attach), likes and your follower/following relationships.

Device & usage information. Platform (Android/iOS), app version, device locale and a push-notification token — used to deliver notifications and keep the app working correctly across updates.

Imported data (optional). If you choose to import a data export from another tracking service, we process the shows, movies, watch history, favorites, lists and comments contained in that file. Sensitive account, device, token, or session data in an import file is never read or stored.

2How We Use Your Information

To provide core app functionality — tracking, ratings, lists, stats and badges.
To personalize your experience, including content and interface language.
To enable social features such as following, comments and collaborative lists.
To send you push notifications you've opted into (e.g. new episodes, social activity) — you can disable any notification type from Settings at any time.
To maintain, secure, improve the app and to diagnose technical issues.

3Third-Party Services

We rely on a small number of third-party services to operate the app. Each only receives the minimum data needed to perform its function:

TheTVDB — supplies show, movie, cast and artwork data. No personal account data is shared with this service.
Google Sign-In / Sign in with Apple — used only if you choose these sign-in methods, to verify your identity.
Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivers push notifications to your device.
Cloudflare R2 — securely stores profile avatars and banner images you upload.
Klipy — powers GIF search when attaching a GIF to a comment.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, for any purpose.

4Data Sharing & Visibility

Your profile, activity, lists and comments are visible to other users according to the privacy settings you choose — public, followers-only, or just you — configurable per section from Settings. We do not share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

5Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at privacy@tv-log.app. Some information may be retained briefly afterward where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

6Children's Privacy

TV Log is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required by your country) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

7Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@tv-log.app.

8Security

We use industry-standard measures — including password hashing, encrypted connections and access controls — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data to the best of our ability.

9Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
